SAFETY ON WOODWORKING MACHINES

All the colleagues from different countries arrived at about 9 o clock on Monday 23rd and first we started the gathering with the planning in each country's meeting. Then we compared the different curriculums and we've made the conclusion that it was a bit the same in each country. The only thing which is different is the way to teach it to our students.

On the second day we began to work in the workshop in two groups.

The first one had the challenge to make a little box with a combination of wood and Plexiglas. This group had also to realize the templates that they would use for the production. The box was assembled with a 45°-grade- cutting, and the top closed with a rabbet.

The second group had the mission to make a pencil box. For this realization, the templates were already done and we had to use them for the production. We used the moulding machine and the moulding router for the system that made the top of the box which can be opened with a leather link.

On the third day we went back to the workshop to finish the work and at 10.30 we gathered to the staff room in order to have a discussion on the safety parts. We made an evaluation of our stay in Lübeck, and we highlighted some points which could be improved for the next meetings.

During this stay, we discovered a cultural aspect of the city: we had a two-hour-visit at 'Holstentormuseum' on Tuesday afternoon.
